Coding is a messy, lively, infuriating pursuit. Perhaps that’s why prose about code gets shaped into smoothed arcs—it’s our best defense against machine-made chaos.
Bouncing around the internet, I’ve noticed that frustration goes on Stack Overflow or Twitter; hard-won answers are the ones that make their way to blogs.
Instead, I’d like to try to let the process be what it is: perpetually in motion, forever undone.
I’ll admit that this will be hard for me. I tried it once before, and it was fun…but still too narrative to be sustainable. What I’m aiming for is more like BERG’s weeknotes. Perhaps still too beautiful a bar to meet, but it’s the plainness of the miscellany that attracts me. Loose ends without end.
